Therapy Outcome - Clients Expectations
by Fai Shuster Kur
When we enter the therapeutic environment we often come in with a set of goals and outcomes in mind.
We want more intimacy, connection, to communicate better, to reconnect...
Sometimes when we start talking about relationship stuff, work stress, health etc clients can start resisting those topics, as if they are unrelated. As if talking about work stress has nothing to do with why she may not want to have sex later that night, as if his weight and work related stress are not impacting his erectile functioning.
However, when we focus on the healing power of energy we know that sometimes the energy and focus will go to where it needs to heal, which may appear to be unimportant and irrelevant at the time.
Have you ever been to a chiropractor complained about your neck and he tells you the problem is your right thumb. Weird right?
Well I thought so when this happened to me.
Time and time again I watch clients flourish when they let go of what they believe the problem is and looks to see what it is that is
We can't always measure success based on what we believe we can see, what we believe needs to happen. The depth of the healing may be more profound and amazing than anyone of us will ever truly know and most of the time it has nothing to do with how often we have sex and who initiates it.
